Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery
The Spy, 2023, oil on canvas, 61cm x 51cm
A contemplative portrait that explores themes of secrecy, perception, and the tension between what is seen and what is hidden. Inspired by the true story of a woman who used balls of yarn to smuggle secrets during wartime, this painting invites the viewer to lean in and look closer. Subtle details suggest there is more beneath the surface. This piece asks what truths we miss when they are laced within the ordinary.
Parade Shops, St Mary’s
Pandemonium, 2024, Oil on canvas board, 41cm x 51cm
A fragmented still life that examines nostalgia, memory, and the resilience found in ruin. Scattered objects and subtle clues come together like the aftermath of something unraveled. It challenges the viewer to sift through layers of meaning and asks what are we willing to see and what happens if we don’t?
The Shrewsbury Arts Trail 2025 is free for the public and spreads throughout the town of Shrewsbury. For a map of the trail or more details, please visit https://www.shrewsburyartstrail.com/map-and-guide
